Then what am I to do? I will pray with my spirit [by the Holy Spirit that is within me], but I will also pray [intelligently] with my mind and understanding; I will sing with my spirit [by the Holy Spirit that is within me], but I will sing [intelligently] with my mind and understanding also.” 1 Corinthians 14:15 AMP

Praise and worship is another form of prayer and the highest form of prayer. And since we don’t know how to pray as we ought to pray, that also means we don’t know how to praise and worship God as we ought to do. One of the best way to do it is by singing in the Spirit or magnifying God Almighty in the Spirit.

So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.” Romans 8:26 AMP

Apostle Paul through the Holy Spirit said we give thanks well (nobly) when we sing in the spirit.

Otherwise, if you bless and render thanks with [your] spirit [thoroughly aroused by the Holy Spirit], how can anyone in the position of an outsider or he who is not gifted with [interpreting of unknown] tongues, say the Amen to your thanksgiving, since he does not know what you are saying? [I Chron. 16:36; Ps. 106:48.] To be sure, you may give thanks well (nobly), but the bystander is not edified [it does him no good].”1 Corinthians 14:16-17 AMP

If you notice Paul said by the Holy Spirit that “we can bless by the Spirit ” and he also said we “give thanks well “. In other words, singing spirit is a great blessing to us as individually and collectively as a church unto God Almighty, though it will not be a blessing to someone who does not understand praying in the spirit and singing in the Spirit

Jesus Christ our Lord said: “true worshippers must worship God Almighty in spirit and in truth.” And one of the ways to do it is by practicing singing in the Spirit, because most of the time we sing songs which ministers to our feelings or emotions and does not minister to our spirit and to God Almighty.

The Bible also makes us to understand that God Almighty only ministers to us as we minister to Him.

As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.” Acts 13:2 KJV

So we are encouraged by the Holy Spirit to start our week by practicing praising, thanking and worshipping God Almighty for all He is done to us and still doing in Jesus Christ mighty name. Knowing fully well that as we continue in this practice God Almighty will minister back to us in Jesus Christ mighty name.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father I thank you for your word. I wait for Your ministration as I minister unto You by singing in the spirit with the Help of the Holy Spirit within me in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen.
