Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16 KJV

The light in this scriptures speaks of our spirit becoming light to us through the power of the Holy Spirit and causes us to be the light of this world.

For You cause my lamp to be lighted and to shine; the Lord my God illumines my darkness.” Psalms 18:28 AMP

When we pray in the spirit our light breaks forth in darkness and becomes a blessing to us and the world around us.

This is what happened when the early church was born. When the Holy Ghost came, they that were in the upper room were filled and began to speak in other tongues. But while they were speaking in other tongues their light broke forth to those that were in darkness and they heard them speak in their own tongue and three thousands were added to the church. (Please read Acts 2:1-41)

When we pray in tongues someone is getting free from darkness, because we’re addressing things (spirits in the realm of the spirit) in the Spirit to let the captives go free.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father I thank You for Your Word. My light is breaking forth today through the power of the Holy Spirit to someone in darkness, even as I pray in the spirit in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen.
