Today we read:
Proverbs 27-29

-Food for thought day 335-

• Romans 3:24-26
• Romans 5:1

The absence of peace is the lack of practice of God’s love. Many people are restless because they function by works and not by grace (God’s kindness, ability, and favour) that came to us, not by merit or good deeds.

The Word of God says:
“yet now God declares us “not guilty” of offending him if we trust in Jesus Christ, who in his kindness freely takes away our sins. For God sent Christ Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to end all God’s anger against us. He used Christ’s blood and our faith as the means of saving us from his wrath. In this way, he was being entirely fair, even though he did not punish those who sinned in former times. For he was looking forward to the time when Christ would come and take away those sins. And now in these days also he can receive sinners in this same way because Jesus took away their sins. But isn’t this unfair for God to let criminals go free, and say that they are innocent? No, for he does it on the basis of their trust in Jesus who took away their sins.”
Romans 3:24-26 TLB

You are saved and loved by God freely by His grace. Grace speaks of His ability and it is by functioning in His grace by faith that you experience peace.

“So now, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith in his promises, we can have real peace with him because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.”
Romans 5:1 TLB

In other words, we must function by His grace to love and have faith in Him to keep loving people irrespective of their attitude. Having in mind that it is through His love that many have and are still coming to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

To function in God’s kind of love and daily experiencing His peace, you must always remember the kind of person you used to be before you got born again. Remember that Jesus Christ went to the cross just to make sure you are free from allegations of sin and the power of it.

For this reason, your love for people must be based on how you were justified, not on how you wish or want to see people justified.

Remember: the absence of peace in your life is the lack of the practice of God’s love.

Be at peace with yourself!

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
