Bible Study Plan 2019

Today we read:
Psalm 123-124

-Food for thought day 319-

• Philippians 2:5-8

There is no way God’s love can be expressed through you as long as you keep comparing people to yourself. Self-righteousness will only cause you to judge others instead of loving them for who they are; due to the fact that you measure them according to your standard, not God’s.

In order for Jesus Christ to demonstrate His love for us, He had to come to our standard, identify with our mess and demonstrate His compassion towards us, by dying in our place.

That is why the Word of God says: “Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:] Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained, But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being. And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:5-8‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Before the world sees and experiences God’s love, we must learn how not to be self-righteous or religious and also make room for the unrighteous to come in the same way Christ did for us in our sinful state.

Today we can boldly say we love God just because He first loved us by lowering His standard for us to be plugged into Christ.

Remember: you can’t effectively love people when you keep seeing them with your standard and not God’s.

Lower your standards when it comes to loving people!

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
