Bible Study Plan 2020

Today we read:
1 Corinthians 11-13

-Food for thought 2020 Day 7-

• Romans 8:1-2
• 2 Peter‬ ‭3:9
• 1 Peter‬ ‭4:2

The flesh makes it difficult to know spiritual matters and to be led by the Spirit.

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:1-2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The power of sin is at work in the flesh therefore many find it difficult hearing and responding positively to God’s voice.

In the natural world, you don’t recognize the voice of a stranger, you recognize the voice of those you know and have developed a relationship with. The same is true in the spiritual world. If you come to know God’s voice or to be led by His Spirit, you must first know God. You can’t develop an intimate relationship with Him with sin in your life.

That is why Romans 12:1 tells you to make a move towards God by giving your life to Him and continuously abide in Him.

God wants a relationship with you for the purpose of not wanting you to perish. A life without God is empty and worthless.

“The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people’s conception of slowness, but He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

God does not want you to spend your life in sin. He wants to lead you and cause you to live according to His plan.

“That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭4:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Remember: sin is anything you do without God’s love and when you refuse to trust God. Being led by the Spirit has to do with you refusing to fellowship with sin.

Refuse to fellowship with sin!

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
