Romans 6-10

It is impossible to walk in the Spirit when you don’t have an understanding of your new nature in Christ.

God is a Spirit and He relates to your spirit and not to your soul or body (John 4:23-24). That is why you must be born again (John 3:3-6) to understand God.

God will guide you through your recreated human spirit and not through your soul or body.

“The spirit of man [that factor in human personality which proceeds immediately from God] is the lamp of the Lord, searching all his innermost parts. [I Cor. 2:11.]”

If your spirit is the lamp of the Lord, that means God will guide you through your spirit. That is why it’s very imperative that you understand the nature of your spirit for you to walk in the Spirit.

The Word of God says:
When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun!
2 Corinthians 5:17 TLB

When you came to Christ, you received a brand new spirit, your soul and body were washed with the blood of Jesus. In other words, the way you used to think did not change. Your soul only undergoes transformation by meditating on God’s Word. That is why God relates to a spirit that is born again and not the soul.

Remember: for you to walk in the Spirit, you must know your new nature in Christ.
